"Charles told us there were two kids in there." Pointing into the dilapidated building only a few metres away, Logan's eyes focused on the structure -- on pinpointing its entrances, its exits, and how to get in and out as quickly as he could.
"We got a Sentinel over there." He pointed elsewhere to a grey figure standing atop one of the few buildings still standing. "My idea is...
"I run like hell in there, and if the Sentinel ever notices my dumb ass is doing anything, you use your powers to keep it from moving. Alternate between weathers, and hold each one as long as you can so it doesn't learn how to adapt quick enough that you run out of moves."
Storm only took a short moment to think it through, to finalize her strategy based on Logan's suggestion. She could do this. There was no other way, if she wanted them to succeed.
"Okay. But don't you dare get caught by any possible hiding enemies." She may have been teasing but on the inside she was worried for Logan's safety. Another reason for her to kick some serious Sentinel ass out there.
Before Logan departed, Storm gave him a soft kiss. "Be careful."
The touch of a mouth to his own wasn't new, but it was always something that made him smile, even in a situation as dire as this. Perhaps especially in a situation as dire as this.
When she pulled away, Logan's mouth curved into a crooked grin. "I always am, darlin'."
And then he was off, claws sheathed as he pounded the pavement. The Sentinels, fortunately, didn't sense him, and Logan slid the rest of the way with his suit slipping over dirt and taking him into the entrance and completely out of sight.
Storm took her position, keeping a close eye on the Sentinel Logan had spotted and any other possible ones lurking nearby. Those things were too clever but she'd be damned to let them get the upper hand. Especially when it was Logan and children in danger.
The sudden sound of movement alerted her and sure enough the Sentinel was facing in the direction Logan had gone in. This was her cue to take action. Storm spread her arms, eyes glowing white as she ascended. Her first choice was a strong gust of wind, just long enough to disorient the Sentinel.
"You're messing with the wrong mutants here, you big pile of junk."

Only then did he look at her. "How's that?"
