The touch of a mouth to his own wasn't new, but it was always something that made him smile, even in a situation as dire as this. Perhaps especially in a situation as dire as this.
When she pulled away, Logan's mouth curved into a crooked grin. "I always am, darlin'."
And then he was off, claws sheathed as he pounded the pavement. The Sentinels, fortunately, didn't sense him, and Logan slid the rest of the way with his suit slipping over dirt and taking him into the entrance and completely out of sight.
Storm took her position, keeping a close eye on the Sentinel Logan had spotted and any other possible ones lurking nearby. Those things were too clever but she'd be damned to let them get the upper hand. Especially when it was Logan and children in danger.
The sudden sound of movement alerted her and sure enough the Sentinel was facing in the direction Logan had gone in. This was her cue to take action. Storm spread her arms, eyes glowing white as she ascended. Her first choice was a strong gust of wind, just long enough to disorient the Sentinel.
"You're messing with the wrong mutants here, you big pile of junk."
