post DOFP au, per our plurk

Charles never forgot the man who had the claws. Logan. Wolverine. Whatever he called himself was no matter to Charles. All he cared about was the man had saved him. He knew that Logan had no self awareness. He could see in the man that he really didn't know how good he was.

He claimed Charles had saved him in the future. Well, Logan saved him in the present. He only hoped that the future that Logan spoke of had changed. While he wanted to help Logan and save him, he prayed that there was no more Trask in the future.

Never did he think he would see Logan this soon. The events came in a way he didn't plan, couldn't have seen coming even if he did have that gift. En Sabah Nur had wreaked his havoc. Raven had come to him at the mansion and together the team had sought out a way to save Charles. He was grateful for Jean, a woman more powerful than she would ever realize. She weas the reason that they were all alive.

She was the reason Logan was currently here, in the mansion, strapped to a table with lots of wires in him, both IV drips and body monitors.

And she was the reason, thankfully, that he still had his hair. In his time, she had been that much quicker, just enough to help and jump in before Charles had lost the hair on top of his head. He had to admit, he was a bit attached to it.

Charles sighed as he rolled into the room. One of his many daily checks on Logan. One day, perhaps the man would wake up. He'd been a terrible, almost traumatic shock when the kids had found him. They should not have put their lives in danger without getting help, but they'd been able to take care of the mighty Wolverine, bringing him back to the mansion and that was something.

"My dear man, please wake up. We have a lot to discuss. Come back to us," he murmured softly.
